Aerospace & Defense Excel Screening Model
This Aerospace & Defense Excel Screening Model was created as a senior financial analyst and class instructor for The Investment Society at the University of Texas at San Antonio. It was developed by applying fundamental data science methodologies, including data collection, cleansing, analysis, feedback and iterative enhancements to increase model accuracy.
Chosen to lead a team of five in providing fundamental analysis on aerospace & defense securities utilizing relative value, ratio analysis, regression analysis, and determining target P/E valuations, it resulted in the rebalancing of the aerospace & defense portion of a $250,000 investment portfolio created to provide low-fee microloans in Puerto Rico.
To help manage this investment portfolio, I designed and maintained a proprietary Excel screening model employing Bloomberg data integration to calculate top- and bottom-line growth, capital returns, risk, valuations, and overall buy, sell, and hold list of aerospace & defense securities providing recommendations to purchase (RTN, ARJD, HEI/A,) hold (NOC, LMT,) and sell (GD) securities for sustained, long-term growth.
